Sad to learn that Norman Solomon has lost the primary election for Congress in California’s second district by 174 votes. Because of redistricting, I couldn’t even vote for this great writer, activist, and friend (he calls me “the poet”). Norman’s upbeat point: “electoral politics is a subset of social movements and not the other way around.” His “What’s Next” event is on Saturday, July 7 at Solomon for Congress headquarters in San Rafael. Check the website. Carry it on!
